OECD TG 476 HPRT Assay
Recently validated and ready for GLP studies.
SERVICE INFORMATION
The hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyl transferase (HPRT) assay is one of the mammalian cell gene mutation assays available at Gentronix. An alternative to the mouse lymphoma assay, the HPRT assay detects gene mutations such as base pair mutations, frameshift mutations and small deletions and insertions.
The HPRT assay can be used as a follow-up test for positive Ames data (OECD TG 471) or positive large colony data in the MLA (OECD TG 490) assay. The OECD TG 476 HPRT Assay can also assess mutagenicity when the Ames test may not be appropriate, for example, when testing antibiotics.
If you would like more details on how Gentronix can support your project through the conduct of OECD 476: HPRT Assay, please contact a team member or submit an enquiry at enquiries@gentronix.co.uk.
