OECD 437: Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability Test (BCOP)

SERVICE INFORMATION

The OECD 437 BCOP test is an ex vivo method, using cows eye corneas, for the determination of test chemicals (substances or mixtures) that require classification or labelling in accordance with GHS. Test chemicals are exposed to corneas enabling categorisation using the LLBO irritancy score.

The OECD 437 BCOP test is currently undergoing validation and establishment of laboratory proficiency under OECD 437, with services then becoming available in both GLP and non-GLP formats.

We offer a high capacity , exceptional quality and rapid turnaround times to me our clients need.

Why is this importantDetermination of chemicals that require, and those are not require, classification or labelling for eye irritaton and damage is an important aspect of chemical risk assessment and registration.
Test SystemBovine cornea from commercial meat processing
